Building a Bridge Between Electronic Recycling and Resellers

About Us

ecoATM is a San Diego based electronics recycling company committed to reducing the amount of used electronics that ultimately ends up in landfills. We use top-of-the-line innovative technology to analyze used and unusable electronics that consumers drop into our kiosks. The kiosk users are then provided with a value for their device, and if it is accepted, they receive immediate payment in the form of cash, in-store credit, reward dollars, or a gift card for select retailers.

Reseller Services

ecoATM is now offering cell phone providers the opportunity to purchase back used units of their own cell phones from ecoATM. Whenever possible, ecoATM refurbishes used cell phones back to factory condition. We are offering to resell these refurbished units back to the cell phone providers, who can turn around and resell them to their customers as refurbished units.

History

ecoATM has been active since June 2008, with an initial focus on recycling used cell phones. Six months later, ecoATM expanded to include a wide range of electronic devices, and installed its first kiosk in a major retail location in January 2009. Since then, ecoATM has expanded to locations in four U.S. states (California, Kansas, Nebraska, and Washington), installing its first cash-dispensing kiosk in February 2011. Along the way, ecoATM has won multiple technology and green technology awards, cementing its position as a dominant force in the electronic recycling movement.

Testimonials

"Each year, 75,000 tons of phones pile up in landfills. The toxic materials they're made of—often arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury—can seep into the soil and contaminate drinking water. EcoATM aims to reduce this waste by keeping these perfectly function phones in use." -- Spirit Magazine, Southwest Airlines, 02/01/10

"Could gadget recycling get easier than this?" -- TreeHugger.com

"Until now there have been limited options for recycling old cell phones...ecoATM is the easiest solution yet." -- Ariel Schwartz, Fast Company
